How can anybody turn down the coaches job, surely they must have applied for it as in the case of Jimmy Lowes??

Think Powell is a excellant appointment. Some say its a step back for him, how can it be. He has never been a head coach at Superleague level so wants a chance. He cannot fail because if things don't work out he would walk into a championship job.

Yeah , Took over from Dean Lance in 2001 but was shafted after they 'moved' him upstairs in 2003 to make way for Tony Smith

hasnt he already taken the championship job? =P i think its a big mistake from him. i think come next round of licences fev would be in a better place than cas for one.....

As a Cas fan, i actually agree with you on Fev being in a better place. I don't agree on it being a mistake though

He might want to test himself at a Superleague club.

He might make a good coach for Cas. He's certainly paid his dues. I was never his biggest fan when he was at Leeds, but it was far too soon for him to be given such a role. Now he's older and a bit more experienced he should do a far better job.

Of course you do....And that's my opinion!

Good luck to the new coach, handy that he has S.L experience (a few years ago granted) and knows his way around the Championship...where sadly we will probably end up
