I've switched to Swiftcover this year after 5 years with Tesco. I'm saving about £120 over the course of the year and I'd struggled to get anyone as cheap as Tesco in previous years.

Swiftcover are part of the AXA group who are also cheap so give both of those a try. My mate has just switched to AXA and he's saving a packet.

I'm with a company called footman James at the mo , seems quite a fair price but only got 2 years no claims because of how long I've had my own cover. Got them through go compare stevo , no harm in looking

No company is cheaper. All companies target a particular audience and stick to that at certain periods-its called spreading the risk. People recommending companies is pointless-its finding THE company in any one year at your time of renewal who is looking for people like you.
Some tips-add a named driver like a parent-amazingly that reduces prices
-dont overestimate your mileage,most people do much less than they think
-try and pay it all up front and save on interest
-do a young driver course
-always change companies at renewal or haggle with your current insurer you will always get something off

My son is 18 he has just gone on his own ins with Admiral on a duel car policy . His insurance for a 53 reg corsa is 1400 he got freebreakdown cover and i got discount on my insurance. Put an adult as a named driver as this reduces the cost . Try elephant as well cos they are a partner company of Admiral . Good Luck
