I, personally, would have opted for Ellis over Nicklas. I know Nicklas has been more impressive over pre-season but seems to be more of a 6 (runner, not really an organiser) than Ellis who seems to be a 'leader'.

Either way, good to not have Washy and Horne playing 6 and 7. Come on you ulllaaaaaaa.

I'd have opted for Ellis to start with Nicklas on the bench instead of Turner.


Edit: However, I haven't seen the team in training so who can say that Nicklas hasn't been great in the practice sessions? Gentle, Hay, Radford, etc have seen more of them than I have so I'll trust their judgement for this.

I would of gone with Ellis also. I doubt we'll have a kicking game for today with no Seymour and Ellis.

Agree with the above posters, surprised that Ellis didn't even make the squad tbh.

But, credit where credit is due, Gentle has gone with Nicklas because he's in form, and he's sending out a message, that he will give the younger squad players a chance, it can only benefit Nicklas.

It may or may not do us any favors in this game, as I cannot imagine a strong kicking game with Horne & Nicklas as the halves.

Nicklas has a decent kicking game, when I have watched him, he plays like a Scrumhalf.

Is Ellis fit enough for SL, Nicklas has been the better player in pre season so deserves his chance.

Anyone else getting any intereference on Humberside? Sounds like someone keeps dropping the mic or something.
