Could I add that those who played few matches have been omitted as have those who cannot defend.Duport sneaked in on his whole career.I also see a lot more away than home matches

I have read the comments from other posters, and deeply regret not having inserted Bosc, Greenshields and McGuire in the honourable mentions for my original post.

I realise that Greenshields is a strong candidate for best full back, but in 2014 Escare outdazzled Greenshields best year.

Thomas Bosc has been a loyal team man, and good player, but surely not at the level of talent of Todd Carney or Stacey Jones.

Blanch and Murphy were very fast, but Krisnan Inu has more strings to his bow, including a sidestep and goal kicking, plus the ability to fill in admirably at full back and centre.

Fouad Yaha, though not yet full developed, particularly in defence, has already shown that he has all the talents necessary to become one of the greatest wingers France has ever produced.

So despite revising the 'Honourable mentions," I remain unmoved on my selections for the best 17,
