I think he needs a makeover - feathers look a bit tatty compared to other mascots.
Regarding his true identity - could this be the "Return of the Magnificent Seven" ?
All I can add is that whoever it is must be VERY nervous......
Unless the groundsman dropped some of the whitewash when he was marking the pitch out?
