Going to be a fun season. London, Fev and Toulouse looking strong. Leigh fans probably disappointed so far with their signings, really thought they would go for it this season but they will probably strengthen mid season when it looks like they will miss out on the top 2. Widnes and York probably not strong enough to break in the top 3 which probably leaves us hoping for 7th at best.

Do you really think London are looking strong GFB? Look at the players they have lost...Abdull, Yates, Pitts, Walker, Gee, Hellewell, Mason, Kear, Williams, not sure about Ioane and Cunningham but most of their quality from last year has gone. Walters and Curran are good signings but to me on paper they look weaker than when they were in the Championship 2 years ago. I think Ward will need to be an even bigger magician this year to have them challenging for top 2.



Also, I originally thought York might regress this year having won so many tight games in 2019 but they look to have recruited well. I wouldn't rule them out from being top 3 contenders with Ford still at the helm.

I agree compared to 2 years ago London don't look as strong but in my opinion that London team would have won the league this season with games to spare. I think even though the overall quality in the championship is up, I think that is more to do with the lower teams been more competitive rather than the top teams getting better(barring Toronto).

Hmm. You may be right but that 2018 London team only made the top 4 with a point to spare and the team that got 10 SL wins this year wasn't vastly different. I don't think Toulouse are much better or much worse than 2018, Fev last backend were a better team than in 2018 imo albeit partly down to some very solid contributions from the DR players, and York have recruited well enough to suggest they should be solid again.



When you look at who London have got signed up for this season, it doesn't look anywhere near as strong on paper to me...taken from their forum (albeit posted a while ago). Not saying they won't be top 5, maybe top 2, but they have lost a lot of their better players.

One things for sure it should be very tight at the top and there hasn't been a better chance for a true championship club to get promoted in a long time. Im not going to lie but Im very jealous that Fax won't be anywhere near in the mix next season unless we can pull a massive rabbit from a hat. The mistakes over the last couple of seasons will take the club a number of years to recover from.

And also, possibly, the last time, if the drawbridge gets pulled up after the current Sky deal expires at the end of next season.



Must admit that after all Leigh's social media promotions about "fireworks" I was half expecting another Beaumont spending spree to unfold yesterday with a view to another assault on SL, but given the damp squib that followed maybe he's keeping his powder dry for some mid-season acquisitions if they look like finishing top 5.

I agree the Drawbridge will be up the Portculllis down & some sort of Licensing re-introduced.

Unbelievabley some clubs voted for it!

I think currently the right messages are coming out of the club, getting ready for the start of the season etc.

It will be tough but if we pull together then we can push for top 5.

Wow, a halfback with plenty NRL experience would do a huge job at this level. If Frawley is available we absolutely must go for it.

There are a number of SL clubs looking for halves as well so if we can get anybody who is anywhere near it will be a job well done.

I am told that the Giants deal loan to us of Fawley will be free...yep free...so what's in it for them.



Simple it gets an overseas player off of their roster and we become a full DR in what is in essence makes us feeder club link.



It will mean we will see some quality players at the Shay and have a real chance of competing in the league, but despite how the BOD dress it up we will no longer be a truly independent club.



Not sure if its worth it or not, but we should see a winning team.

Where will these quality players come from? It's shuddersfield FFS!
