What is it about rugby league whereby the powers that be have to over complicate almost every aspect? Is there somebody at RFL HQ who is paid to come up with new rules and regulations every season?
The game is on its and the RFL are bringing crap like this in. Next year they'll be giving out bonus league points for the cleanest teams in the league!!
Well, looking on the positive side, this is clearly an opportunity for a mathematics university graduate to make a name for themself. I'm all in favour of creating more jobs in the workplace.
It's pretty unclear - on the one hand a grade D challenge equates to 12 points. The article goes on to say:

That doesn't make any sense. I'm assuming they're adding the 12 points onto whatever he'd accrued already? So this new system can't be "new" can it? They've already been counting points for previous offences. When was the point that they started counting?
So if England is on 18 points that's a three match ban. Does he remain on 18 once the ban is served? So if he commits a grade B offence he gets another 3 match ban and a fine as he'll be up to 21 points? Another grade B after that and it's a 4 match ban? Seems a bit OTT. When are points anulled? The article states points are anulled 12 months after the offence. Does that remove points for that individual offence or all of them?
There are a lot of implications here. Some players could be spending more time on the sidelines than on the pitch for relatively minor offences due to committing one bad one in the past year.
God knows how many points George Taufua already has on his record.
