your right, RL has proved to be a resilient beast over the last century! For me its not about whether it will die or not, obviously it won't but about will it grow to be a national sport, will it be the countries No1 footy code, will it ever get its 5h1t together?

we already are number 1.
we beat AFL by 60 million viewers on TV which makes up for the crowd difference in their favour.
and this excludes the tv ratings of new zealand. |

that will only count when it gets translated into $'s. At the moment you can't claim were number one when 1/2 the country doesn't even get to see a game. In probably 4 out of 5 key indicators we are being beaten by AFL. When less than 8000 people turn up to watch a game two weeks running it makes any claim to be the most popular sport in the country somewhat farcical.
