He had a competent game but did no more than he is expected to do and still came up with a howling mistake at the end. However I hope he takes this as a start point to rebuild his game. On the other hand Kevin Penny would have scored from such a clean break with ease so when is he going to get his chance?

If it had been Penny or Riley (who had a very strong game) people would be crucifying them as usual.

Yes but would Penny have scored King's try?

Possible because he does jump well even though he is rather shorter. And bear in mind, he comes much, much cheaper and isn't on the quota.



And on the other hand; he DEFINITELY would have scored with clear field in front of him and definitely wouldn't have been run down for pace and caught by a second rower.

No, what I'm saying is that he made and error late in the game when the game was already won so it didn't mean much.



However I would be saying different if we lost the game from that error mind you.

Don't get me wrong; I honestly hope he kicks from here but he is far from the superstar player we thought we were getting. His running style is all wrong though; his body position is far too upright into the collision and thus he is always likely to cough the ball up when an opponent gets their shoulder under the ball.

King is 6ft 4 and caught it above his head with some decent pressure on him, not sure Penny would have been able to get it. Just making the point that they have advantages in completely different areas...



One of Kings best games for us today anyway, lets hope he can keep it up and keep improving every week.
