Sky not showing the Championship next year.

I won't miss trying to get to 7:30pm KO's, but if true its kind of a kick in the teeth for Championship RL.

Have to say tho we never got great promo's or pushed like SL, RU, Cricket etc.

Not a bad thing for attendances , although I heard that Premier Sports might be interested on another thread.

They didn't pay us for the privilege anyway

One of the issues with the Championship and NRC tv coverage is , will the RFL allow SKY to retain ' ownership ' of the two finals or the play offs for more than one season at a time



This must not be allowed to happen , as this would make it totally unviable for any other broadcaster to even consider taking on and paying for any future TV coverage

Have to admit I agree with Steve. The lack of authorisation Channel M was able to get after SKY started showing games in 2007 meant that their Code XIII show became a stale magazine show in contrast to the vivid highlights led games it was and while it didn't lead directly to the eventual mothballing of the station, it didn't help when they were asked to stump up cash to SKY even though they only broadcast one of say 10-12 games on a weekend.

If these RUMOURS are true then sky should have no say what so ever over anything that relates to club rl outside of sl.

Surely thats up to the chairmen of the clubs outside of sl?.

Yes they should , then again I doubt they could agree on what colour ball we should play with

Not necessarily , SKY usually tie up all the loose ends and the money bandits from SL install their SKY butt plugs.....End of story.

Doesn't look good for the proposed payments out of SKY monies, to the Championship clubs, in our wonderful revamped competition, next season, does it?

Perhaps the rfl new this and this is why they are hoping to turn champ 1 into some kind of community league with little or no central funding.

Or some kind of community league with central funding , and a Championship with none
