The Miners u 18's are without doubt the best at that level outside the SL academy comp , It would be interesting to see them take one of those sides on



I doubt they could compete with the best but would trouble some of the middle/lower order



Maybe something they could arrange as a last match together

Celtic had a full strength team I think. I was told that they did not have an under 21s match so all players were available, with a large scattering of GB starlets !!!!



LMR were missing 2 players though, I think LMR have a big advantage when it comes to mind games if they meet in the final. But you are right with what you suggest, the RFL would love nothing more than Celtic winning and showing how good the youth set up is in Wales.

This morning s rugby leaguer said that the Celtic side was under strength, dont know if true or not, time will tell/

well as far as miners were aware celtic had a full team to pick from on saturday, no one is saying that miners would beat super league academy sides but they have got a very good side with some special individuals in there squad and have shown with there results throughout the season they have consistantly been the best side in the league and are two games away from being the best u18s team in the country.

Firstly Brickwall i stood and spoke to Mike nicholas throughout the first half who explained that they were 6 players down.Second the Leigh miners kids are a good amatuer side and have played some great rugby this season,but when terms like remembered for years start getting banded round.I think not,by the way brickwall i hope you dont get anymore pigs in your brickwork and keep your trowel clean......SMUDGE

i dont believe what i read sometimes! we have two of the best under 18s sides in the country within feet of eachother who have represented leigh proudly and have both been exellent, in miners case going UNBEATEN yet all people seem to want to do is be negative.... "our team is better" "miners were lucky, celtic couldnt have been full strength" still people find something to moan about, give these lads some credit!!!!!!!!!

Paul j youve just done the same again with the UNBEATEN, and as another matter of fact i have coached and play at both clubs and you will struggle to find a prouder person about the achievements of our local teams.I just think to be humble sometimes is the best path instead of back slapping each other on a forum
