Just finished my ironing , what have I missed!

PMSL at at the idea of Steve logging onto my account, it's no wonder he no longer posts on here.

I'm not having a go at the Club just answering why IMHO Fev have increased their fan base.

You still haven't grasped it have you.

They didn't apply to win any awards.

It was the work they did on our last SL bid that won them it.



Anyway we won't win it for this year will we!

I was laughing because I thought it was funny. I see that you still have your warm and welcoming persona despite having a spell in hibernation.

Fev have also been playing great rugby for three seasons. That defineatly brings in the fans.

This season we have been closer then last year , so were closing the gap on the field , let's try and do the same off it.

IMO The previous community department when all things are considered were excellent, worked hard and had lots of great ideas, of course they could have done more but with the limited budget they probably had to spend too much time and effort not chasing the awards as some have said but chasing the potential funding.



One of its biggest problems (and the current one is the same*) was lack of publicity of what they actually did, having a mini-bus with logo’s on etc shows a community presence. around the towns, when they visit schools, or festivals, etc. We use to have a plain white mini-bus for community use, I’ve drove it

(under the guidance of Mr Chairman, only cos they couldn't get it off East's car Park,

) , do we no longer have it?



Blackburn have about 4 of these, not only for their weekly community work but they also take their disabled supporters to away games in them, could we do this? Or even the JC’s, Even if they had to pay the travel cost.



*The publicity is so lacking I’m not even sure we currently have one?

Exactly Glow. What's the point of a community dept that no one ever really knew that it existed ?



I also believe bringing young people into an apprenticeship scheme, installing a working culture and giving them a purpose within a structured in house training programme is a step in the right direction. One the club should be applauded for and one that will eventually deliver it's objective.



It is also a community programme the club can now control as I was informed the last one was working independent of the club.

This was from September last year onwards when the staff was made redundant by the club.

Young lads can not apply for the grants though etc etc Hannah and co could and have got secured and in place.



Since then, they have worked independant of the club, one of their projects that they funded with grants was the boards that are on the walls under the North Stand.

Who are they?

What have they done?

What are they doing?



=#0000FFMy understanding and I stand to be corrected, is the previous Community Department (although officially an independent trust) was/is only operating totally independently from the current management of the club, the previous management worked in partnership with them.



I don’t really understand why the current management has taken the decision to move away from this. I’m neither knocking that decision nor having a go at the new kids on the block, I just don’t know why. If it’s been explained before then sorry but I’ve missed it.

I must admit I was forming an opinion based loosely on hear say.



I have since learned a lot more of the work the girls in the community dept or trust did behind the scenes and the grants/funding they secured that will now not be available to us.



So I'm now not entirely sure why the club have taken this move myself either considering (as it would appear) it will now be tied in with a Super League club's own community programme.
