Really pleased about this. First time we've honested an academy final since 2001 I think despite having the right to do so on various ocassions in the past.

well done on all concerned for getting this game at home!



ill definately be there now and hopefully there will be a big crowd on- i can see the west stand being full.

Thank you to Dave Whelan. If i'd have took the stick he had took, there is no chance i would allow Latics to play there. Fair play to him.

Great to see the Reserve final on Sun 27th Sept against either Stains or Leeds will be at the the DW/JJB. Does Dave Whelan know about it or is he in his paradise retreat?

Great news. The Reserves deserve a massive crowd.



I get the feeling we may see one which would put a couple of current SL clubs to shame!!

I thought, "Great!" then realised that I can't make it.

If we get saints in the final we should be looking at a crowd of 4k.

I'd be amazed if they got half that, even for Saints!

I'd like to know how the powers that be check my diary to make sure that I can't go before deciding on the date for all Reserves and Academy finals and semis.

There was around 1,500 for the play-off game at Orrell so there is no reason why we can't better that. We could probably almost fill the west stand with some effort, especially if we play saints.
