There is no parade. All that this is, is a simple marketing ploy for the play-offs. And why not?

Again I don't get the negativity around the hub cap.



The CC is seen as a major achievement but yet it only takes a team 5 games to win it? The hub cap, if we win on Friday, has taken us 22 games to win. We've been to Leeds, Saints, Dire, Hull, Hudds & Hull KR and come away with points. It's the hardest piece of silverware to win IMO and anyone that's says it's pointless needs their heads checking.



I'm not saying the CC isn't an important trophy but the hub cap ranks along side it IMO.

Its a crap trophy that was an afterthought when they realised the playoffs are e. If we were presented with the old championship id feel a tad better. We SHOULD be being crowned champions but we're not, so what's the point.

Top post Priestman. It's only Sky that rank the hub cap so low and of course teams who don't win it, but go on to win the SL Trophy who then go on and on and on about it as, unfortunately, we will find out in four weeks time when this board is infested with Wire fans.

But they'd much sooner win the GF. Ask Leeds and Saints in 2007 and 2008 which they'd have preferred.

At the end of the day it will get people into the club shop on Saturday Afternoon. It costs Wigan hardly anything to do it and the club will make a few quid from it as people will purchase merchandise from the shop as they queue.



Fair play to them, might take my two lads along. They're in their first proper season watching Wigan and having never seen the club win any kind of silverware they are buzzing that Wigan have won a trophy!



It's little things like that which will get them hooked for life* regardless of how crappy looking it may be.



* Similarly for me - I started watching Wigan in 1982 and was over the moon when we won the JPS Trophy in 83.

agreed, my lad is 11 and i cant wait to see him at the end of the game on Friday, the look on his face when he gets to have his picture taken with the silverware he saw his hero's holding up the night before will be priceless!!
