Is presenting the hubcap after your game on friday a new tactic by the Wigan club to keep you lot in the stadium til the end of the game for once??

Well done on winning it but it doesn't come close to that big Cup, only 5 games yet so many can't do it. |

It's harder to win the hub cap than CC that's a fact.
Win 22 games vs winning 5 is a clear indication of this.
The CC and hub cap are on par IMO and more recognition needs to be given 2 the hub cap. |

though with the challenge cup theres no second chance, though i do believe that the league leaders should be a bigger deal as it should reward the consistancy needed to perform well for a large majority of the games played

You can have an average season and win the CC
You can have an average season and end up winning the GF
You CAN NOT have an average season and win the Shield.
Its the hardest piece of silver to win in the game, end of.
I think the old championship trophy should be given to the champions. The current Super League trophy should be given to the team that wins the league.

On the contrary. Winning the league is the greatest achievement of the three now that all teams play all others home and away (with the exception of millennium magic). The cup comes down to the luck of the draw and the 'Old Trafford' jamboree is basically a marketing ploy to sustain interest to the bitter end and favouring the late finishers and the least depleted squads. I for one will celebrate the most worthy of the three trophies.  |

I'm also very proud of my club proving that they are THE BEST TEAM IN THE COMPETITION.
And I (39) *WILL* be going along, with my youngest daughter (7), as I would like to add it to the pictures that I have of me and my eldest daughter holding the Superleague and CC trophies.
Anyone who chooses to be embarassed by the fact that our club chooses to let the fans see/hold the trophy that you win for consistently being the best team, all year (not just for 4 or 5 matches in the case of both the GF & CC), can just stay away and let the rest of us enjoy it. |
