Wakefield Council are skint so they won't be directly funding any stadium. All three proposed stadiums do not require any public money so there are no rate payers to appease.
As has been said before, a merger does not automatically mean a new stadium will be built, both projects still have their issues. Also where ever the merger locates itself it would see supporters of the abandoned team become disenfranchised and turn their back on they new team. |

Wakefield is a big enough City in its own right. With the new community Stadium WAKEFIELD TRINITY will be able to reach it's potential as Belle Vue is strangling the life out of the club. Sir Rodney sorted the theatre Royal out for us 20 odd years ago now he's providing a top class theatre for sport at newmarket for the City & district

I remember back in the late 80's long before lottery was around,he helped the Theater raise £3/4 million to keep it from closing. |

I wouldn't support a merged team either. I'm a Wakefield fan, and as any true fan knows, you don't just change teams. Wakefield till I die.
