One of the kicks yeah, Calderwood wasnt near it and Berrigan almost scored. Other than that one lapse i dont think he did much wrong tbh. Doesnt cough the ball up etc and even players like Berro have started to do that.

he was just telling me and i quote. they leeds fans were glad to see the back of him (calderwood), all he ever really did for us was a quick return from a 20 restart. if he was really any good do you think we would have got rid? i cant offer any argument at moment can anyone help?

| Calderwood would be useful in a team what would be willing to take the risk of trying something different and be willing to use his kick chases better, and playing in a team that had players capable of missing out a man with a pass. All he is used for at the minute is running from dummy half, an area of his game that is very poor.

They also got rid of Dowes, Carvell, Scruton, Raynor etc etc.

He scored 25 tries in his last season at Leeds.

I think we need to use his strengths more regards our kicking game.
Although last nights kicks didnt result in a try it was one avenue that looked the most likely. Why didnt we kick that way 2nd half?
Far more threatening then our centres dummy half scoots!

Agreed, I wouldnt even mind if we used generally sensible approach at the start of a game or if we are in front of kicking for good field position rather then risking giving the ball away cheaply, becuase that is the risk in trying things like kicking early in the tackle count for a winger to chase, but its so annoying that we dont even seem to be willing to try this when we are behind and need to come up with a play to keep us in the game, so negative.

| Quote Suzie="Suzie"If I was a neutral watching that last night I would have turned it off at half time.
Like some previous posters have already said it had last year written all over it. Boring rugby 5 drives and a kick.
Why do we keep taking Berro off, he can play 80mins, he's so important to our team. Not only that but the timing of the substitutions, at one point he had Cusack, Berro & Radders off 3 leaders and he replaced them with Houghton, King & Lee at a crucial time of the game. That's before I even mention the problem with having Moa on the bench at all. I think the coaching staff have to take a lot of responsibility for last night.'"
great post Suzie. having Cusack Berro and Radders off the field at the same time was suicide, playing Moa instead of Thacks didnt help either, Agar et al need to look at themselves and think again quick before the next game.
