Hi,

I'm going to be going out with the father and brother in law over the weekend, and I want to get into a pub that;

a) Has a good standard big screen to watch the sport on.
b) Has a good atmosphere, for most sporting events(but not too busy)
C) Has a good reputation(i.e. not too many knobs who use it as their local - haha)

In either Penketh, Sankey or Westbrook !!!!!

Is there any locals on here, who can reccommend anywhere?

The Woodys is ok and passes a & b, just can't be sure about who will be in there for c. All in all, I've been in there a few times for football not covered by sky & ESPN and had no bother.

the woodys is a good shout also the sportsmans opposite the red lion is pretty decent

The Ferry Tavern is a brilliant pub but doesn't have a TV. Defo pop into it though.

The Chapel House covers your requirements, comfortably.

Nice little local PH the Capel House, not seen any bother in there ever.

Red lion had a saints game on last season when I was in. Few Saints shirts watching the game, even though they were playing 4 miles down the road.

Does Seven Woods near Westbrook still show games?

Butchers arms just been refurbed,decent food big screen.Was in there Good Friday having a mixed grill and watching the Hull derby.

I think so but it's sh*t.

Yeah - I like the Ferry, especialy in the summer, take the dog for a walk round the farm, then finish off with a pint, sat outside !!!
