For those planning on travelling to Wembley by train, all services from the North will be terminating at Rugby due to engineering works in the Watford area on both the Saturday and Sunday.

If you are intent on travelling via the WCML you will have to travel to Coventry or Birmingham International, then on to Euston via the Chiltern line.

Is that the same line the Pendolinos use [Manc to Euston that is closed?

There will be two TPH from Manchester, one to rugby and one to Milton Keynes

Every August Bank Holiday weekend Railtrack do works which bugger the journey up.

FYI, Railtrack ceased to exist 12yrs ago.

Network Rail perform all the same functions, but state owned because privatizing railtrack was stupid.... much like rail in general.

Engineering work has to be done at times when the disruption will be the least. Some works need to be done during BH weekends as obviously the extra day means much more can be done - and as much as it's not good for a few thousand wanting to travel to Wembley, it is much, much less disruption than affecting hundreds of thousands of commuters on a normal work day.

Had a quick look at Sheffield trains... £79 to wembley... bluergh

Our usual PoA is to drive down to a nearby town, find cheapish all-day parking, then get a train to Wembley.

No rail works and cheap parking with a reasonably fast getaway after we lift the cup.
