Without any shadow of a doubt. Great athlete would give us some more strike and also cover across every position in the back line.

He played well at centre when asked to play there by Saints. I agree he was/is not a natural centre but he can play that position very well.

firstly - he is a better half than powell
secondly - he is a better centre than thornley, gelling, sarginson and hughes. he's played there for saints and is a natural ball player who has the ability to fit in anywhere along the backs line.

just because someone has come through the wigan ranks does not mean they are automatically a good player. yes, we would like 1-13 born and bred in Wigan, but if players become available who are better than what we have - we would be fools not to buy them.
for all the potential that willams, tierney, powell have - its no guarantee that they will make it.
